Support act Normanton Street put on a great show, as usual. I first saw them last year at The Brunswick in Hove and instantly realised they were something special. Back then the group consisted of Ned Archibong (guitar and vocals), Nicholson Davids (bass guitar and vocals), Bukky Fehintola (vocals), Hannah Lynn (saxophone) and Jack Butterworth (lead vocals). With an eclectic sound covering hip hop, soul and jazz, this ever-evolving group of talented musicians, with affable Bradford boys Ned and Nicholson at the heart of it, are making Moves. Fast-forward a year and a half, several EPs, multiple gigs and many dapper outfits later, and they’re now fronted by stunning female vocalist Phoebe Freya Pearce, whom they named their previous EP after. Two hours later Talib Kweli still hadn’t appeared.
